Dylan & Camdyn Meet Santa & Mrs. Claus (updated)

Youngsters from two different families, Dylan and Camdyn, shared a few moments with Santa and Mrs. Claus as part of the kick off to the 16th Annual Christmas Stroll - "Stroll The Wild West" - got underway. Stroll night in historic Downtown Sheridan went from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with local retailers open for holiday shopping.

During the 31st Annual Running of the Turkey Trot, shirts that read "Boot Camp by Val" caught the eyes of many. Having been to Marine Boot Camp years ago I was intrigued to learn more. Valeria Granata, recently from Rio De Janeiro, has brought Boot Camp by Val to Sheridan. Boot Camp is a very intense work out program where as Val puts it, "You get results with lots of fun.

After rehearsing "3-2-1" several times Ben Chalker, of Sheridan Media and KYTI's Morning Show Host, does it for real into the microphone and about 400 runners respond in kind as the not-so-young embark on the 4-lap/5K run around Kendrick Park. The 31st Annual Turkey Trot is Underway. Check back later for running, finish line and pie give away photos.

The kids are lining up for the running of the 31st Annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. The Volunteers of America (VOA) Northern Rockies is hosting this year's event as the kids are getting ready for the 1-mile run and then it will be time for the not so young who will go 4-laps around Kendrick Park - 5 kilometers or 2.8miles, take your choice.

Phase I - Looking Good (updated)

Workers were busy installing signs in the Wyoming-Park Street Planning Area on Wednesday morning. If all goes well the streets of Whittier, Burkitt and Wyoming Avenue in the Phase I area may be opened to traffic by day's end. On April 21st a Memo from the Sheridan City Council went out describing the phase I project.

Governor Mead Opposes Closure of Rural Post Offices

In a news release Tuesday Governor Mead indicated his opposition to the closing of rural post offices in Wyoming. The post office at Leiter Wyoming shown here is among the 43 post offices in the state that the U.S.P.S. has listed for possible closure. Governor Mead noted that these closures would add 40-60 miles miles of driving for rural residents to get their mail, but that the U.S.P.S.

A Shower for the 4A Coach of the Year (updated)

The Wyoming Coaches Association has named Sheridan's Don Julian the Class 4A Coach of the Year. His name and that of Cheyenne East's Chad Goff are on the ballot for Wyoming Coach of the Year - the results of that ballot will be counted on December 6th.

Post Season Sheridan High School Football Honors

After the Sheridan Broncs went 11-1 and won the 4A State Football title the post season honors keep rolling in. The players shown here have been named to the All-State and All-Conference list with three also being named as Players of the Year. In addition to these ten, Kevin Bakkehaug, Casey Carlton and Hayden Legerski were also named to the All-Conference list.
