Faried's slams lead Nuggets past Bulls 128-96

DENVER (AP) - Kenneth Faried celebrated his invitation to the league's annual slam dunk contest with a series of rim-rattling, crowd-pleasing jams Thursday night when the Denver Nuggets extended their winning streak to eight games with a 128-96 win over the Chicago Bulls.

Faried finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds in 26 minutes as the Nuggets won for the 15th time in 18 games since Jan. 1.

BRONCS DROP DUAL WITH GILLETTE / BIG WEEKEND ON THE LOCAL SPORTS SCENE

BRONC WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers dropped a dual to Gillette 53-18 Thursday night Broncs Head coach Tyson Shatto says it was a tough dual and the broncs ran into a very good opponent.

Tomorrow the Broncs close out the regular season tomorrow afternoon hosting another dual with Cheyenne Central. Varsity matches get underway at 2:00.

The conference tournament will be next weekend in Laramie.

Laramie, Wyo. (Feb. 6, 2013) -- One of the most anticipated days of the year for any college football program is National Signing Day, and on Wednesday the University of Wyoming announced the signing of 23 student-athletes as new members of the Cowboy Football program.

LOCAL SPORTS SCENE LOADED WITH ACTION THIS WEEK

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams play Laramie tomorrow and Cheyenne South Saturday. the Lady Broncs play on the road while the Broncs host the Plainsmen and Bison.

The Lady Broncs are in a three way tie with Gillette and Cheyenne East for the conference lead head coach Sean Yeager.

They have a pretty good test coming up on the road starting with Laramie tomorrow night.
